Growing consumer sentiments and regulatory directives such as EU Cosmetics Directive (76/768/EEC) have enabled and expedited development of approved alternative test guidelines for toxicological methods. Vanta Bioscience is committed to the 3Rs (reduction, refinement and replacement) of animal based test methods by offering validated alternative toxicological methods.

Vanta Bioscience has currently validated the following tests:

Ocular Irritation (based on bovine cornea or chicken chorio-allantoic membrane)

Cell viability assays (based on MTT) and cytokine release assays are being developed and validated to support the requirements of artificial human skin based studies. We have developed a roadmap for commissioning of alternative toxicological methods as approved by OECD.
